Best yoga pace for a Sunday

Closing this week of energy awareness with a very slow flow.
Letting go and making space for a new cycle.
Sunday is the precious transition to a new beginning. This week slowly getting ready for a new moon cycle too.
I can already feel the first effects of this week working on energy management.
I felt an overall sense of space and a higher amount of energy every day after both my jobs.
Sunday night is the time with the lowest level of energy, perfect for a gentle pace. The best time to release and move slowly before entering another energetic and inspiring Monday.
Keeping the Sunday night free to reconnect, integrate and close the circle smoothly is immensely valuable. Sunday night is like a long Savasana.

Slow down.
Listen to yourself.
Be aware when you need space to recharge.
Set on pause anything that you are doing right now.
Find a place to walk freely. Appreciate the beauty of this place. Breathe in new fresh energy. Become light and soft.
Be grateful for this precious and beautiful paradise around the corner.
Release all limits and prepare for the new season.
Time to prepare a new yoga class.
Back on track.

How can I relax deeper during holidays?

Holidays are great. We look forward to enjoying them. But can we really relax on holiday? It depends. Do you wish to cut off all work related activities?
To me holiday needs to be a real break from everyday routines. Routines that need a break of course. Your yoga practice is welcome on holiday. Especially if you are a yoga teacher. Finally you can just give yoga classes to yourself. Lovely!
How can we truly relax? Sometimes we cannot chill out and we keep the same loop “I need to get so many things done!” To avoid these kind of feelings and thoughts, during the last two longer holidays, I have set a new habit that seems to make my holiday much more enjoyable. I simply switched off my internet connection for at least one entire week. On July I did it again. No social media for 8 days. From the third day on, it feels awesome to not just check out anything on the phone. The phone remains somewhere in the bag. When you find it you notice that it has become incredibly cold. This is a good sign. You have not used it. You forgot it. Yes, this is one of the best habits I have created for myself. Perhaps you can try it and check out if you experience lightness, freedom and full connection with the environment.

First Month Morning Glory Yoga

Thank you to all the people who have attended the first Morning Glory Yoga classes this month in Haarlem.
It was very cold, and difficult to get up and get out of the house very early in the dark. I am proud of all the people who have participated and practiced together.
Thank you for the patience and dedication despite all my instructions in Dutch language with my strong Italian “flavour” ;)
It’s been beautiful to feel the concentration, presence and nice intentions. 

Are you going to join the next classes on Tuesday at h 07:30 or on Thursday at h 08:30?

From January 2017 I am teaching Morning Glory Yoga lessons at Sport City Haarlem, a very cosy and friendly sport centre in Haarlem.
Morning Glory Yoga is a yoga practice created by Sahiela Morlacchi in December 2016 for all people who love to start the day energized and enjoy the benefits of yoga the whole day long!
This is going to be a bright beginning of the day and of the New Year :)

A motivating reminder at the beginning of the yoga practice

I'm on my yoga mat. I am ready to discover new sensations. I am happy to find out another part of myself that is stiff, another part of my body is communicating with me. I feel lucky to be here. I feel lucky to have again something new to learn. Here is another chance to explore myself and to get in touch with myself.
By thinking this way it is possible to set a world of chances instead of limits. Walking the way appreciating every little step and every subtle sensation.
I remind myself these thoughts before starting any session, the highway to free flows within.
Yoga is not about being already flexible or being too stiff, yoga is about starting a journey and mindfully live it.
Focus on your journey, be present during your ride!

How does it feel tuning yourself up at sunrise?

When is it the best time for a yoga practice? I have practiced yoga at every time of the day. Early in the morning has definitely become my favourite time to practice. Very early! When everything is still quiet and calm. A perfect time to observe all sensations in the body and in the mind. Sheer vitality flows throughout the energetic centres. At the end of the practice reconnecting to the world that is waking up is an additional gift of the morning.
Sunrise is the moment where I get the most from the yoga practice. Of course this can vary from person to person. So, a good advice would be to test different times and observe what feelings are the most desirable. If you haven’t tried yet, perhaps your next yoga session will be at sunrise and you can discover new feelings.
I love tuning myself up precisely at sunrise <3
